Of the 21,822 people living in Hamtramck in 2019, 48.5 percent (10,577) were women and 51.5 percent (11,245) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Eastern Wayne Today.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 6,680-to-6,431. In the 65 and over age range, there were 926 females and 813 males.
