Four swimmers and divers from the Wayne State University men’s team have received Academic All-District recognition from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly known as CoSIDA. The announcement was made today, acknowledging their achievements both academically and athletically.

Trevor Jones, a graduate student, along with sophomores Harrison Arnold, Khalil Ben Ajmia, and John Martin, were honored with this distinction. Jones previously earned First Team Academic All-American recognition and had notable performances this season, including participation in various relay and individual events at the GLIAC Championships. As an MBA student, Jones maintains a 3.945 GPA.

Arnold, an Engineering major, competed in nine team meets this past year, achieving finals placements in several events during the GLIAC Championships. He has consistently been on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA for two terms.

Ben Ajmia, who overcame injuries in his sophomore year, participated in seven meets. As a freshman, he was a four-time All-American and holds a strong academic record as a Marketing major.

Martin achieved Second Team All-American status this year in diving competitions. He majors in Mechanical Engineering and has been recognized on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

“The 2024-25 Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom,” stated the CSC release. These honorees are considered for the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with results to be announced on April 22 and April 23.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs receive partial financial support from the NCAA national governance structures, while the NAIA program is supported through the NAIA governance structure.
