On Saturday, April 19, former University Liggett School standout Patrick Ilitch’s current college team, the Valparaiso Beacons, lost 5-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Murray State Racers.
The game took place at Emory G. Bauer Field. This was their third matchup against the Racers this season.
The Beacons’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 at 3 p.m. at Emory G. Bauer Field against Northern Illinois Huskies.
Wayne State University’s men’s tennis team ended its season after losing to Northwood University in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament on May 11. Despite switching up pairings during doubles play and securing one singles win from Luis Klaus, they were unable to advance further.
Wayne State University’s men’s golf team has been selected for its eighteenth NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional appearance since 2004. Coach Mike Horn expresses optimism about his team’s performance heading into competition starting May 7.
The Wayne State University men’s golf team is set to open its 2025-26 season at the Glenmoor Invitational hosted by Malone University.
