Sen. Peter Lucido (R-Shelby Township) joined others from around the state of Michigan in offering his condolences to the family of Rep. Isaac Robinson (D-Detroit). The-first term Democrat passed away in a hospital due to a suspected COVID-19 infection.
“I would like to extend my thoughts and prayers to Rep. Isaac Robinson’s family, especially his mother. The news of his passing was a shock to all of us in Lansing. He was an incredible advocate for his district and his leadership will be missed,” Lucido said on his Facebook page.
Robinson’s mother, Mary Rose Robinson, a former state representative, said her son had experienced trouble breathing in previous days leading up to his visit to a hospital, according to 7 Action News. He was admitted in the morning of March 29 and passed away later in the day.
Robinson represented the state’s 4th District, which included Hamtramck and parts of Detroit. He was 44 years old at the time of his passing.
