City of Hamtramck issued the following announcement on May 21.
The IRS previously issued guidance for individuals who may qualify for the cash relief payment through the CARES Act but who are not required to file a 2018 or 2019 tax return. Previously, the form was only available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents in 2019. The IRS Non-Filer Form has been expanded to include qualifying resident aliens and can be shared with individuals who are eligible to receive a cash relief payment but not required to file a 2018 or 2019 tax return.
Please see the below list of information you will need to provide on the form:
● Full name, current mailing address and an email address
● Date of birth and valid Social Security Number
● Bank account number, type and routing number, if you have one
● Identity Protection Personal Identification Number, you received from the IRS earlier this year, if you have one
● Driver’s license or state-issued ID, if you have one
● For each qualifying child: name, Social Security Number or Adoption Taxpayer
● Identification Number and their relationship to you or your spouse
On May 12th, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released this bulletin to health entities to ensure access to resources for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP), especially during this public health crisis. This guidance includes providing written translations of documents, or oral language assistance from a qualified interpreter, either in-person or using remote communication technology.
