CITY OF GROSSE POINTE PARK: Parks and Rec Update May 22nd

Parkgreen

City of Grosse Pointe Park issued the following announcement on May 22.

Please note the following changes at both parks for the holiday weekend and moving forward:

•Park hours are as follows: Windmill Pointe 7am - 9pm; Patterson Park 7am – 8pm

•Restrooms will open on Friday, May 22nd. Please make sure you are following the CDC’s guidelines regarding proper hand-washing.

•Both the Tennis and Pickleball courts will be open for play. Court use will be on a first come, first serve basis. Please limit your playing time to 1 hour and continue to practice social distancing. The courts may be closed if safety becomes an issue. Warning: the tennis court resurfacing project was postponed so some tennis courts may continue to be off limits; please do not try and utilize these courts.

•The chipping and putting greens at Patterson Park will remain open as long as users continue to practice social distancing. The area may be closed off if safety becomes an issue.

•All gatherings must be 10 individuals or less including children and you must be at least 6’ apart from all others in your group.

•A limited amount of picnic tables will be available for use at both parks. We are asking Residents to bring their own chairs to use with the picnic tables. Residents will be also able to utilize the stationary grills throughout the park.

•Safety fencing has been installed along the perimeter of the marina and park grounds due to high water levels at Windmill Pointe Park. Please do not try and enter the areas fenced off for your safety.

•All other buildings and play structures, including the Park Café, the City Pool, and the Splash Pad, remain closed.

We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend. If you have any questions regarding this update, please contact Park and Rec Supervisor Chad Craig at 313-822-2812 x200 or by email at: craigc@grossepointepark.org
