City of Grosse Pointe Farms issued the following announcement on June 17.
The Pier Park pool facilities will reopen on July 1, 2020 with some restrictions to comply with occupancy and social distancing requirements related to COVID-19. Additionally, effective July 1, 2020 residents with a valid park pass will be allowed to bring 1 guest per day, per park pass into Pier Park. Boaters with a boat in the harbor will be allowed to bring in guests to go on their boats, but those guests will not have access to pool facilities.
Pool Facilities Schedule Beginning July 1, 2020:
• Large Pool
• 7:00am-8:00am: Early Morning Lap Swimming (Pre-
Registration Required)
• 8:00am-9:30am: (CLOSED for Cleaning & Disinfecting)
• 9:30am-11:00am: Swim for Vulnerable Populations and
Swimmers 55+ Only
• 11:00am-11:30am: (CLOSED for Cleaning & Disinfecting)
• 11:30am-9:00pm: Open Swim (Cleaning & Disinfecting
Throughout the Day)
• Splash Pad
12:00pm-7:00pm
• Tot Pool- Will Remain Closed
The above and additional measures are being taken to help ensure public safety and the enjoyment of the Pier Park by Grosse Pointe Farms residents.
