Hamtramck Public Schools issued the following announcement on June 25.

This year our basketball season for both the girls and the boys was exceptional. We are so proud of their sportsmanship. HPS Athletes are driven and they understand that “hard work pays off” something that Coach DJ Foster reminds them often. There are so many “thank yous” to say, thank yous to all our incredible coaches including Coach DJ Foster, HHS administrators: Mr. Vraniak, Mr. Kiner, Mrs. Filipiak, Athletic Director Anderson, our HPS Families, Marcus Determined Series, our sponsors and partners in education…
Because of everyone’s dedication, our students have a strong path to success. Coach DJ Foster shared the wonderful news about our seniors: Noah Burns, Jadon Tillman and Mike Lewis who have all signed scholarships with Wayne County Community College District. Watching our Cosmos play has been one of my best experiences this year.
I found it difficult to sit when they play, with all the smooth moves, clean shots, and synergy, there was no time to waste by sitting. Our seniors Noah Burns, Jadon Tillman and Mike Lewis will move on to college level sports and a beautiful future. Our Students, Our Community, Our Future, Hamtramck Public Schools is committed to excellence.
