City of Wayne issued the following announcement on July 7.
Would you like to donate a bench to the Wayne Veterans Memorial?
If you are interested in donating a bench for the Wayne Veterans Memorial, please contact the City Manager at 734-722-2001 or via email at lnocerini@cityofwayne.com. Your name,your organization's name, or the name of a Veteran you would like to honor, will be engraved on a metal plate that will be affixed to the bench. You can also choose to be an anonymous donor.
The committee would like to install 3 metal benches with backs and each bench is going to cost $749.00. They are heavy duty and have a corrosive-resistant powder coat which is great for Michigan weather. The committee would like to use the money raised to date for the lighting, flagpole, plantings and future maintenance.
The Memorial also needs 2 trash cans specifically designed to match the benches. Those are going to cost $610.00 a piece. Trash can donations are also greatly appreciated.
