City of Grosse Pointe Farms issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
On Tuesday, August 18th, Pier Park staff was notified that one of our lifeguards has tested positive for COVID-19. This guard was on duty at the pool Sunday, August 16, from 9:00am-3:00pm, and Monday, August 17 from 10:00am-4:00pm. We are following the protocols recommended by the CDC and the Wayne County Health Department for thorough testing of staff members, contact tracing and disinfection of all facilities. As a result, the pool at Pier Park will remain closed until further notice.
We recommend anyone that utilized the pool during the times noted above self-monitor for any possible COVID symptoms and, if necessary, contact your medical professional for further guidance.
