Wayne, Michigan Administration Community Updates issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
Thank you to everyone who has been so kind and patient to the city staff who are still working at City Hall as we attempt to still provide assistance on election matters.
For the safety of the staff and the public, City Hall will continue to operate at minimum staffing until further notice so that we can ensure that there are no additional COVID-19 cases. So far, and as of today, no new cases have been identified, but we feel we need to take this situation day by day. The building was professionally sanitized and disinfected by hand on Wednesday this week.
Please read the operations changes to City Hall only until further notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to be back up and running soon.
Please be advised:
City Hall will be open for election matters only until further notice.
Finance and Assessing are closed for in person matters. Please read the information below.
If you need to access City Hall for election matters, please stand outside of the building by a cone on the sidewalk and we will let you in one at a time. Unfortunately with the recent COVID-19 case this is our best option at this time to reduce risk but allow for election matters to be handled.
If you already have your ballot, please consider dropping it off in the election box outside of city hall and limit access into the building for your safety.
All bills will need to be placed in the drop box outside of city hall or can be mailed. There is also a bill pay kiosk available in the lobby of the Wayne Police Department. Or you can pay online.
Water billing questions can be answered by calling 734-722-2000 x3. Please leave a message and your call will be returned.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
