University of Detroit Mercy issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.

The University has been recognized once again as a Military Friendly School in the 2021-22 Military Friendly list of schools that serve veterans and military personnel.

This year, Detroit Mercy is recognized as a designated university committed to helping veterans and military personnel achieve success.

Now in its eleventh year, the Military Friendly Schools list has set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. This prestigious list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data sources from federal agencies and proprietary survey information from participating organizations.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. More than 1,200 schools participated in the 2021-22 survey, with 750 schools from across the country earning the designation. The 2021-22 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine; it can also be found at militaryfriendly.com.

“Once again, Detroit Mercy is honored and thrilled to help all of our veterans who have bravely served our country,” Associate Vice President and University Registrar Diane Praet said. “The life experiences they bring to our University provide unique perspectives and important voices in the classroom, which helps broaden the education experience of all our students.”
