City of Dearborn issued the following announcement on Dec. 6.
Dearborn Director of Finance Ginger Burke-Miller was unanimously elected to the position of vice president for the Michigan Government Finance Officers Association’s (MGFOA) board of directors in October.
Burke-Miller has served the City of Dearborn as its Finance Director and Treasurer since 2019. She brought an immense amount of experience to the role having worked in local government finance since 2002. She has served on the MGFOA board since October 2018, serving as a director for her first two years and one year as Treasurer.
MGFOA is a premier organization of public officials and finance professionals. It prioritizes the professional development of its members and promotes excellence in the management of public entities.
Through this leadership role with MGFOA, Burke-Miller strives to encourage young people to pursue careers in public finance. Through Burke-Miller’s leadership and active participation in the MGFOA, she ensures that Dearborn continues to adhere to best practices in finance and governance.
The board consists of 11 seats.
