Dearborn dog licenses expire Feb. 28

Pettraining

City of Dearborn issued the following announcement on Feb. 15.

Dearborn requires all dogs over the age of 6 months to have a valid city-issued dog license, which can be obtained at any time throughout the year. The license must be renewed by Feb. 28 each year, regardless of the date on which the license was originally registered. Dog owners can complete the process in person with proof of the dog’s rabies vaccination and a valid ID to the City Clerk’s Office in the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave., Suite 1. To pay for the $10 application fee, you will be directed to the City Treasury counter, also in the Dearborn Administrative Center. Please note, paying with a credit or debit card will trigger an additional $3 fee.

If you’d like to fill out the application at home and mail it to the Clerk’s office, please include a check or money order made payable to City of Dearborn, rabies vaccination documentation and a copy of the owner’s ID.

For more information about licensing your four-legged friend, visit the Clerk’s Office webpage here or call the office at (313) 943-2015.
