Canton Township is pleased to announce the hiring of Victor Ibegbu as the new Director of the Information Technology and innovation (ITI) Department. Ibegbu comes to Canton from the Detroit Public Library, where he served as Assistant Director for Information Systems for the last 10 years.
Ibegbu’s role at the Library saw him implement, manage and lead in diverse Information Technology initiatives that includes: cloud migration; establishment of Digital Asset Management System; introduction of high capacity bandwidth; introduction of rent-to-go technology devices, etc.
Ibegbu holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a concentration in digital librarianship; a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems, and an Associate degree in Computer Applications Technology. He is passionate about technology services for communities, specifically technology utilization as instruments for advancing the goal of service delivery and broader needs of the community.
“We are so pleased that Victor has joined our Canton Township team,” said Supervisor Anne Marie Graham-Hudak. “His experience and knowledge will be a great asset to us for many years to come as we advance Canton’s technological capabilities for our residents and the region.”
Last year, to meet the Canton organization’s evolving technology needs, the Township created a stand- alone ITI Department. This new department, led by Ibegbu, will coordinate a strategic approach to provide integrated technology solutions that will ultimately enhance service to Canton’s residents.
The combination of Victor’s experiences and passion makes him a perfect fit for the Canton Township, which he also calls home and has lived in for 13 years
