tree planting ceremony will be held in memory of HFC IT Specialist Randall Eiermann between the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center (Bldg. L) and the Science Building (Bldg. J) on the main campus. During the ceremony, a Dedication Plaque will also be unveiled, honoring Randall’s years of service to the HFC community. The entire HFC community is invited to this commemoration. The event is hosted by Randall's wife, Julie, an HFC Enrollment Associate.

The memorial will be Friday, June 3, at 5:00 p.m.

Plans to hold a memorial service for Randall had been cancelled several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Randall passed away on Aug. 21, 2019, surrounded by his family. He had a reputation in the College community of not only being good at his job, but also being quick, efficient, and service-oriented. Whenever people had computer/technology issues, it was common to request Randall by name. After Randall died, many of his colleagues nominated him as a Hawk Hero for how much he had touched their lives. His name still graces a Hawk Hero parking spot outside the ASCC building on campus.

“I met Randall my very first day on campus as president. He was chosen by his supervisor to be the one to greet me and get my computer up and running. He must have been in my office more than half the day, making sure everything worked. I admired his efficiency and attention to detail. It also gave me the opportunity to get to know him, and he told me about his family. I was very fond of Randall. People like him made working at the College a pleasure. I not only miss his expertise, but I miss him as a friend and teammate,” said HFC President Russ Kavalhuna in 2019.

Personal remembrances about Randall are welcomed and encouraged

Randall’s wife, Julie, and his son, Eli – both of whom are HFC employees – invite anyone who wants to share stories and memories about working with Randall during the upcoming event. Please contact Julie in advance, so she can plan for the number of people who wish to speak.
