Wayne State University women's head basketball coach Carrie Lohr, entering her 14th season with the Warriors, has announced the addition of three newcomers to complete her 2024-25 roster.

Lexi Boyke from Frankenmuth, Michigan, joined WSU in January but had to redshirt due to transfer regulations. Jaci Tubergen from Hudsonville, Michigan, transferred over the summer from Bowling Green. Koko Sylvester from Toledo, Ohio, will be a freshman this fall.

Boyke is a 6-foot forward who attended Central Michigan University in the summer of 2023 before enrolling at Wayne State in January 2024. She was required to redshirt due to transfer rules. In high school, she was selected as the MLive Saginaw Area Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2023 and earned Associated Press Division 2 All-State First Team honors twice. "Lexi was a dominant presence on the court in high school," said Coach Lohr. "She has been away from the court for about a year now, but over time we expect Lexi to pick up where she left off."

Sylvester is a 5-foot-6 guard who graduated from Toledo Start High School in 2024. She earned All-Ohio Division 1 Third Team honors in both 2023 and 2024 and scored a career-high 41 points in January 2024 against Woodward. "Komara is a quick athletic guard that we anticipate being a tough on-the-ball defender," noted Coach Lohr.

Tubergen is a 5-foot-11 guard who played two seasons at Bowling Green before transferring to Wayne State. During her time at Bowling Green, she appeared in several games off the bench and posted notable performances against Northern Illinois and Southern Indiana. In high school, she helped Hudsonville win multiple conference titles and one state title while earning First Team All-State honors three times. "Jaci is super competitive and helped her high school team to a State Championship," said Coach Lohr.

The new additions are expected to bring significant experience and talent to Wayne State's roster for the upcoming season.
