Wayne State University head track & field and cross country coach Grant Lofdahl has signed two high school student-athletes and a transfer to National Letters of Intent to join the Warrior track and field program in the fall of 2024. This trio, plus the four previously signed, increases the recruiting class to seven athletes, excluding long-distance runners competing with the cross-country squad.

Joining the Warriors are jumper Courtney Jordan from Canton, Michigan; thrower Ania Toboy from Wyandotte, Michigan; and sprinter Lauren Wooten from Grand Blanc, Michigan.

The previous signees were jumper Olivia Findlay from Marlette, Michigan; sprinter/hurdler Alex Harmer from Woodstock, Ontario; jumper Ava Steinhebel from Dearborn, Michigan; and hurdler Megan Zahnow from Vicksburg, Michigan.

Courtney Jordan is transferring after attending Lawrence Tech for one year without participating in athletics. A 2022 graduate of Plymouth High School, she was a three-year varsity track letterwinner. She competed at the 2021 MHSAA Division 1 state track meet in both long jump and as the leadoff on the 4x100m relay. "Courtney is a very late but welcome addition to our team," said Associate Head Coach Nate Miller. "After some time away from the sport, she has shown a great desire to get back to competing."

Ania Toboy graduated in 2024 from Wyandotte Roosevelt High School where she was a four-year track letterwinner earning All-State honors in discus. "We are excited to add Ania to our team this year," said Throws Coach Celine Freeman-Gibb. "Her excellence in discus is going to help our team immensely during the outdoor season."

Lauren Wooten graduated in 2024 from Grand Blanc High School as a four-year track letterwinner for the Bobcats. She competed at multiple MHSAA Division 1 regional meets and advanced to state competitions several times. "Her excellence will be an asset for our team's sprinting events," noted Coach Lofdahl.

All three new recruits bring significant achievements and experience that are expected to contribute positively towards Wayne State's upcoming seasons.
