Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish will host their 14th annual Baseball Camp at Wayne State University on December 7. The event will take place inside the Matthaei Center and Doris J. & Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility.
Trammell and Parrish will lead the position-specific morning session for grades 2-12 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the Winning Offense Camp from 2:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. Both former MLB players will join the entire Wayne State University baseball program, including coaching staff, student-athletes, and support staff as camp instructors.
"This camp experience began in 2010 and we are thrilled to reach year number 14!," said WSU head coach Ryan Kelley. "Our staff, student-athletes, and special guests look forward to welcoming participants to our Detroit campus for a terrific offseason baseball developmental day! This camp environment offers an incredible opportunity for participants to interact with an entire NCAA baseball team in association with a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and one of the game's top MLB All-Star catchers."
Camp sessions will focus on education, implementation, repetition, and evaluation. Players will receive numerous reps in an energetic atmosphere.
The schedule on December 7 includes an Alan Trammell Infield Camp from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., open for grades 2-12. Participants will be grouped by age and rotate through the camp curriculum together under Trammell's detailed instruction focused on infield development.
Concurrently, Lance Parrish will lead the Catching Camp from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., also open for grades 2-12. Parrish's camp aims to enhance catching skills through advanced drills and training techniques.
The afternoon session from 2:30 p.m.-5:45 p.m., Winning Offense Camp, is designed to improve offensive skills such as hitting mechanics, speed, agility, strength conditioning, and mental aspects of batting.
Each session costs $100 per person or $180 for both sessions on Saturday. Participants will receive a camp t-shirt upon registration online or can direct questions to the WSU baseball office at (313)577-2749 or ryankelley@wayne.edu.
All participants must complete required forms including Wayne State Camps Medical History & Waiver of Liability Form and Concussion Acknowledgment Form before attending.
