Wayne State University's volleyball team is set to continue its GLIAC play with matches against Saginaw Valley State University and Lake Superior State University. The Warriors, who hold a 3-6 overall record and are 1-1 in the GLIAC, will face Saginaw Valley on Friday night at 7 p.m., followed by a match against Lake Superior on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Coach Tim Koth commented on the upcoming games, stating, "The road is always challenging in the GLIAC, and this weekend is no exception. We've worked hard this week, hopefully have gotten a bit better, and will carry that over to the matches against Saginaw Valley and Lake State."

Last week saw Wayne State hosting its first home conference matches of the season. They secured a victory against Davenport with an impressive offensive performance hitting .363. However, they fell to Ferris State in straight sets despite hitting .273 as a team.

Key players for Wayne State include Kayla Giroux, Molly Miller, and Kayla Dulgar. Giroux ranks first in the GLIAC for hitting percentage (.455) and ninth nationally. Miller holds second place in league kills (143), while Dulgar ranks fourth in assists (332). Defensively, Kendyl Andrews leads with 119 digs alongside Giroux's 47 total blocks.

Saginaw Valley State enters this week after losing six of their last seven matches under new head coach Lana Rybkowski. Key contributors for SVSU include Sarah Veale with 124 kills and Ava Beard with 172 assists.

Lake Superior State has shown improvement under third-year head coach Zac Rambo. The Lakers have won their last four outings without dropping a set after starting their season slowly.
