Wayne State University's volleyball team has been projected to finish sixth in the 2024 GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office. The poll ranks Ferris State at the top with 97 points and seven first-place votes, followed by Grand Valley State, Michigan Tech, Parkside, and Northern Michigan.
The Wayne State Warriors are led by Head Coach Tim Koth, who enters his 11th season with a career record of 141-130. Koth aims to guide the team back to the GLIAC Tournament after missing out last year and seeks a second NCAA Tournament appearance following their qualification in 2021.
The team's roster consists of 16 student-athletes, including 12 returners and four newcomers. Key returning players include primary starters Kayla Dulgar, Molly Miller, Kayla Giroux, Ella Uganski, Katie Smith, and Kendyl Andrews.
Wayne State's schedule features 26 regular-season matches, with significant participation in Midwest Region competitions. The Warriors will commence their season on September 6-7 during the Warrior Invitational and continue with various non-conference games before engaging in GLIAC matchups.
The regular season concludes on November 15 against Roosevelt. The top four seeds from the league will host a quarterfinal contest for the GLIAC Tournament on November 20. The tournament's semifinals and finals are scheduled for November 23-24 at the venue of the highest remaining seed.
