Freshman Kayla Dulgar from Wayne State University has been recognized as the GLIAC Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week. This recognition follows her impressive performance, accumulating 84 assists with an average of 10.5 per set, contributing to Wayne State's two victories in league matches.
Dulgar's recent performances include a sweep against Northern Michigan on Friday, where she achieved 30 assists. She further improved her record with a personal best of 54 assists during Saturday's five-set win over Michigan Tech. Additionally, she recorded seven kills with only one error, six service aces, 13 digs, and three blocks.
"Kayla continues to work hard and improve every day," said head coach Tim Koth. "She is very deserving of the awards she has been receiving and I'm happy for her."
Throughout this season, Dulgar leads the league in assists per set at 9.89 and ranks second in total assists with 791. She has managed at least 30 assists in 16 out of Wayne State's 22 matches and exceeded 40 assists in eight games.
Dulgar and her team are set to face No. 17 Ferris State on Wednesday evening in Big Rapids, with the match beginning at 6 p.m.
