The Wayne State University football team is set to face Saginaw Valley State at Tom Adams Field this Saturday for their annual Homecoming game. The Cardinals arrive with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the GLIAC.

Wayne State will play its 87th Homecoming game, marking only the second time against SVSU. The Warriors hold a 45-40-1 all-time record in these contests, having broken a three-game losing streak last year with a victory over Michigan Tech.

Saginaw Valley State is ranked 38th nationally by the AFCA. Under fifth-year head coach Ryan Brady, who has achieved a 31-20 overall record, the Cardinals have maintained winning seasons since his first year. Redshirt freshman quarterback Mason McKenzie leads SVSU's offense with notable passing and rushing statistics.

In their historical series, Wayne State trails Saginaw Valley State with a record of 10-34-1 but has won three of the last five home games against them.

Key players for Wayne State include Griffin Milovanski, who recently moved into second place in school history for made field goals, and Champion Edwards, leading the team's rushing efforts. Defensively, Carl Ware stands out for his forced fumbles per game average.

Wayne State's challenging schedule ranks as one of the toughest in Division II this season. They have played opponents with strong records and are preparing to face future teams with varying levels of success.

The Warriors have seen significant contributions from players like Manny Harris on both offense and special teams. Myles McKatherine continues to add touchdowns to his season tally.

The team's roster includes several returning letterwinners and experienced offensive linemen like Aidan Tweedy and Charles Wesley. The lineup also features familial connections among players such as brothers Champion and Max Edwards.

Broadcasts of Wayne State's games can be accessed through WDTK - The Patriot or online platforms like FloSports for live coverage throughout the season.
