Jordan Fox, Mikaela Senkus, and Alli Vassilakos from Wayne State University's women's swimming and diving team have been awarded the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American honors. Fox and Senkus were named to the First Team, while Vassilakos was included in the Third Team. Wayne State's three honorees tied for second place with Colorado Mines, trailing behind Colorado Mesa's four selections.
Fox achieved six-time All-American status in 2024, including four First Team and two Second Team honors. She recorded her best finish at Nationals as fourth in the 500 free. Additionally, she was named the 2024 GLIAC Swimmer of the Year. Academically, Fox has consistently been on the Academic Honor Roll and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Accounting.
Senkus secured national runner-up positions in both one-meter and three-meter diving competitions in 2024, earning her First Team All-American honors. She was voted GLIAC Diver of the Year for a second consecutive year. As a Civil Engineering major, Senkus has maintained an impressive academic record with multiple terms achieving a perfect GPA.
Vassilakos received three First Team All-American awards in 2024 along with one Second Team honor. Her accomplishments include significant performances at various events such as the 1650 free and relay races. A Management major, she has been recognized for her academic achievements during her time at Wayne State University after transferring from Carthage College.
The CSC Academic All-America program has been recognizing outstanding student-athletes since its inception in 1952. The program celebrates those who excel both academically and athletically across all NCAA levels and other institutions globally.
Wayne State University boasts numerous past recipients of this honor across various sports disciplines including women's swimming/diving which accounts for 21 of their all-time honorees.
