Two athletes from Wayne State University's women's outdoor track and field team have been awarded All-Region honors by the USTFCCCA.
Redshirt senior Thailyia Christensen from Flushing, Michigan, and junior Reagan Justice from Canton, Michigan, were recognized for achieving one of the top five times in their respective events within the region.
Christensen earned her accolade for the steeplechase event. Earlier this year, she was also honored for cross country with a 25th-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional. She previously received cross country All-Region recognition in 2022. Christensen is set to compete in the steeplechase preliminaries at the NCAA Championships on Thursday.
Justice's recognition comes after her performance in the 5,000m race, where she clocked a time of 16:41.76 at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet on April 25th. Last November, she placed 20th with a time of 21:08.00 at the NCAA Midwest Regional cross country meet, earning her All-Region honors as well. In addition to this year's accolade, Justice was awarded NCAA All-Midwest Region honors in 2022 following a 13th-place finish at that year's regional cross country meet.
