Members of the Wayne State University women's track and field team wrapped up their regular season at the Concordia Alumni Legacy Meet in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The event took place over two days, Friday and Saturday.
On Friday, Annabelle Smith won the long jump with a personal record-tying mark of 5.50 meters. Kaleigh Flowers placed fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 43.70 meters, while Peyton Hansen secured third place in the javelin at 30.35 meters.
Saturday's events saw five athletes from Wayne State emerge as winners. Hanne Bastiaansen topped the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.02 seconds, which ranks her tied for third in Wayne State history. Aubrey Migoski finished first in the 1,500-meter run clocking 4:54.37 minutes. Keneisha Thomas claimed victory in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash with times of 14.68 seconds and 25.89 seconds respectively. Rachel Felstow led the pack in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.71 minutes.
Other notable performances included Avery Wilson finishing third in the 100-meter dash finals, recording a time that places her tenth in Wayne State history.
Wayne State's relay teams also had significant showings; one team placed second in both the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay.
Looking ahead, Wayne State will compete in the GLIAC Championships next week starting on Thursday, May 2nd.
