Several members of the Wayne State University women's outdoor track and field team are set to compete in the Elaine Leigh Invitational at Oakland University this Friday and Saturday. The event will take place at the Oakland Track and Field Complex.
Among those representing Wayne State are freshman Tianna Bennett, who will participate in the 400m dash, and junior Robin Bresolin, who is scheduled for the steeplechase. Other participants include sophomore Iyana Coates in both the 100m and 200m dashes, as well as graduate student Emily Esker competing in the 800m run and 1,500m run.
Additional athletes from Wayne State include junior Natalie Davies and junior Mattie Drennan, both entered in the 5K race. Graduate student Kaleigh Flowers will compete in shot put, discus, and hammer events.
Looking ahead, Wayne State plans to send some athletes to compete at the Concordia Alumni Legacy Meet next weekend. Meanwhile, certain distance runners will head to Allendale for the GVSU Extra Meet on April 27.
