Wayne State University's women's basketball team is set to begin the second half of its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schedule with upcoming games against Parkside and Purdue Northwest. The Warriors will face Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on February 1 at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by a game against Purdue Northwest in Hammond, Indiana, on February 3 at 2 p.m. ET.

The all-time series between Wayne State and Parkside has seen Parkside take the lead with a record of 9-8 after their recent victory over WSU on January 6. Wayne State has historically fared better against Purdue Northwest, holding a 12-1 record in their encounters since PNW joined the GLIAC in 2017.

Parkside currently holds an overall record of 11-6 and a conference record of 6-3. The Rangers are led offensively by junior guard Sheridan Flauger and senior Paty Gallasova. Under head coach Jen Conley, Parkside has maintained a solid performance in the league.

Purdue Northwest recently ended a four-game losing streak with a win over Davenport and holds an overall record of 8-11. Senior players Dash Shaw and Mercedes Simmons are key contributors for PNW, which is coached by Courtney Locke.

Wayne State split its recent home games against Ferris State and Lake Superior State. The Warriors currently stand fifth in the GLIAC standings with a league record of 5-4.

Several Wayne State players have achieved notable accomplishments this season. Shea Tripp leads the conference in steals per game, while Becca Fugate reached her career milestone of scoring over 1,000 points.
