The Wayne State University women's golf team concluded its participation in the Emerald Coast Collegiate tournament, hosted by Missouri-St. Louis, with a 10th-place finish among 17 teams. The event took place over three days in Destin, Florida.
Leading the Warriors was Beca Vestman from Madrid, Spain, who tied for 12th place individually with a score of nine-over 222 across the rounds (76-74-72). The team's next competition will be at Northern Kentucky's "The Julie" on March 25-26 in Batavia, Ohio.
Individual performances included Inja Fric from Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Maisarah Hezri from Sungai Petani, Kedah, Malaysia, both tying for 33rd place with scores of 229 (+16). Other participants were Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; Clarita Laffitte from Montevideo, Uruguay; Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan; and Logan Potts from Norton Shores, Michigan.
In the team standings, Flagler College secured first place with an even-par score of 852. Central Missouri and St. Mary's (Texas) tied for second place at +30. Wayne State finished at +72.
