Wayne State University's men's golf team, ranked 24th nationally, finished fourth at the UIndy's Ken Partridge Invitational in Noblesville, Indiana. The event spanned three days and included 18 teams. Wayne State's performance improved significantly in the final two rounds, climbing five spots to finish two under par.

"A really gutsy effort the last two days," commented head coach Mike Horn. "Hats off to everybody for putting together an excellent team score. We had the second-lowest round of the day and really came together as a team the last two days. We are ready to take on the conference on Friday and think all of our boys are ready. Great job to Mat (Hawryluk) with a bogey-free 69 and Ian (Smith) with a fine round."

Josh DiCarlo led Wayne State individually, tying for sixth place with a score of two-over 218 across rounds of 75, 71, and 72. Both Mat Hawryluk and Max Leppelmeier finished tied for 19th place at seven over par. Hawryluk shot rounds of 78, 76, and a bogey-free 69 while Leppelmeier scored an impressive second-round low of 66.

DiCarlo improved his standing by five positions on the final day; Hawryluk advanced by 33 slots; Ian Smith climbed up by 26 places.

Ian Smith concluded in a tie-for-26th with an eight-over total score while Adam Burghardt tied for 44th at eleven over par.

The tournament marked the end of Wayne State's regular season as they now prepare for postseason play at the GLIAC Championships from April 12-14 in Augusta, Michigan. The championship will feature nine teams competing over three days.
