The Wayne State University Department of Athletics has announced that single-game and season tickets for the 2024 football season are now available. The Warriors, led by head coach Tyrone Wheatley in his second year, will host six home games at Tom Adams Field this fall.
Season ticket holders can purchase tickets for $60, which includes a $30 savings on game tickets compared to the total gate price. Additional benefits include being featured as the Season Ticket Holder of the Game, priority access to postseason tickets, and free parking in Lot 50 on game days.
The home schedule begins on September 14 with a matchup against former GLIAC rival Findlay. The two schools have faced each other 23 times, with Findlay holding a narrow 12-11 lead. In their last 17 meetings as GLIAC rivals, Wayne State won nine matchups, including the most recent three encounters.
On September 21, Indianapolis will visit Detroit for a 6 p.m. kickoff to conclude a two-year home-and-home agreement. This will be the 25th meeting between these teams, with Indianapolis leading the series 14-10. Notably, Wayne State has a better record playing away in Indianapolis than at home against them.
Wayne State's conference home opener is scheduled for October 12 at 6 p.m. against Ferris State. The Bulldogs have dominated recent encounters, winning the last nine games and leading the all-time series 33-22.
The annual Homecoming/Hall of Fame game is set for October 26 against Saginaw Valley State with a kickoff time of 1 p.m. Saginaw Valley has emerged victorious in their last four matchups with Wayne State.
Wayne State's final two regular-season games will also be played at Tom Adams Field. They face GLIAC newcomer Roosevelt University on November [exact date not provided], followed by Northern Michigan on November [exact date not provided]. Roosevelt University's football program began after merging with Robert Morris (Ill.) in March of 2020 and posted respectable records over the past two seasons.
In their concluding game against Northern Michigan, Wayne State aims to improve upon their historical performance against them; they have won four of their last seven meetings and hold an overall record of nine wins and eight losses at home versus Northern Michigan.
