Colin Golson, Jr. of Wayne State University's men's basketball team has been named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. This recognition follows Golson's impressive performance, where he averaged a double-double with 20 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, contributing to two crucial victories for Wayne State.
Golson, a redshirt junior from Detroit, Michigan, started the week by scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 22 minutes during a 75-61 win over Michigan Tech on Thursday. He then achieved a personal best with 27 points and matched his career high of 13 rebounds in an 84-80 victory against Northern Michigan on Saturday. In this game against the Wildcats, Golson shot 10-of-14 from the field and made seven out of eight free throws.
The Warriors are set to play their final regular season game against Saginaw Valley State on Saturday at 3 p.m. They must secure a win over the Cardinals to qualify for the GLIAC Tournament.
