Wayne State University's baseball team faced Grand Valley State in a doubleheader on Saturday at Harwell Field. The Warriors, with an overall record of 24-15 and 13-8 in the GLIAC, were defeated in both games by the Lakers, who now hold a 20-18 overall record and are 12-7 in the conference.

In the first game, Grand Valley State's Sam Leck achieved a no-hitter, allowing one earned run, three walks, and striking out five. Wayne State's Griffin Kilander pitched seven innings but gave up five earned runs on 13 hits. The Warriors' only run came in the first inning when CJ Maury was hit by a pitch, stole second base, advanced to third on a flyout, and scored on Kyle Ray's groundout.

The second game saw Grand Valley State score progressively throughout the innings. They managed one run in the first inning, another in the second, five runs in the third, three runs in the fourth, one run in the sixth, and three more runs in the eighth inning. Wayne State responded with three runs during their eighth inning from a Mason McGuire sacrifice fly and consecutive bases-loaded walks by Drew Hill and Owen Tuccinardi. Scoring for Wayne State were Brady Blakita, Coy Plummer, and CJ Maury.

Wayne State used five pitchers throughout the day: Ashton Potts (3-2), TJ McAllister, David Thurman, Kaden Stively, and Will DeMasse.

The two teams will conclude their four-game series on Sunday with a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
