Saginaw Valley wins against Wayne State after Reseigh's ninth-inning home run

Three and a half hours of intense baseball action concluded with Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinals clinching a 15-14 victory over Wayne State University. The game, held at the University Center in Michigan, saw Jeff Reseigh hit a decisive solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The match began with Wayne State leading by six runs, 8-2, midway through. However, Saginaw Valley responded with ten runs in the fifth inning to take a 12-8 lead. Wayne State retaliated with five runs in the sixth inning, reclaiming a 13-12 advantage. The score was tied for the fourth time at 13-13 before both teams added another run each in the eighth inning.

Wayne State's offensive lineup performed well, with eight of their nine starting batters recording hits and scoring runs. Reagan Paulina from Highland, Michigan stood out with four hits, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

On the pitching front for Wayne State were Drew Hill, Macio Miller, Coy Plummer, TJ McAllister, Evan Langlois, and Gabe Nazelli. Hill made his first career start while Nazelli recorded his first loss of the season.

Following this close contest, Wayne State will face Parkside in a four-game series scheduled from Friday through Sunday.
