Three and a half hours of intense baseball action concluded with Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinals clinching a 15-14 victory over Wayne State University. The game, held at the University Center in Michigan, saw Jeff Reseigh hit a decisive solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The match began with Wayne State leading by six runs, 8-2, midway through. However, Saginaw Valley responded with ten runs in the fifth inning to take a 12-8 lead. Wayne State retaliated with five runs in the sixth inning, reclaiming a 13-12 advantage. The score was tied for the fourth time at 13-13 before both teams added another run each in the eighth inning.
