The Wayne State University baseball team dominated Parkside in a doubleheader on Saturday at Carthage College's Augie Schmidt Field, scoring a total of 33 runs across two games. The Warriors, now with an overall record of 22-12 and 11-6 in the GLIAC, won the first game 16-3 and the second game 17-8. Parkside's record stands at 15-17 overall and 4-10 in the GLIAC. The series will conclude on Sunday.

Wayne State's offensive performance marked their highest back-to-back game score since March 2022 against Indianapolis. In league play, this was their most prolific two-game run since May 2021 against Purdue Northwest.

During Saturday's games, Wayne State hit .407 with ten doubles, one triple, and four home runs among their 33 hits. Logan Van Sicklen stood out by going 4-for-9 with a triple, two home runs, and ten RBIs.

In the first game, Wayne State scored five runs in the third inning and continued to build their lead throughout. Tony Hatzigeorgiou and Drew Hill each contributed three hits. Griffin Kilander pitched a complete game for Wayne State, allowing three earned runs while striking out six batters.

The second game saw another strong offensive showing from Wayne State. They scored early and often with contributions from Mason McGuire and Kyle Ray who both had three hits each. Pitcher Seth Marano secured his fifth win of the season after pitching over six innings.

Evan Langlois and Ryan Szlachcic provided relief from the bullpen to close out the victory for Wayne State.
