Members of the Wayne State University men's cross country team participated in the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Invite held in Rochester, Michigan. Despite not having a dedicated men's track and field program, the team delivered notable performances across various events.

Coach Lofdahl commented on the team's performance: "Wayne State may not have a men's track and field program, but our cross country guys showed at the Golden Grizzly Invite that they can do some big things on the track as well as on grass and trails."

In the 1500-meter race, Tyler Buchanan led for most of his race and secured first place with a time of 3:53.90. Kenny Minto also performed well, winning his heat and finishing fourth overall. Griffin Conway won his heat too.

"Our guys in the 5K had a good meet overall," Coach Lofdahl noted, highlighting Brady Heron's personal record of 15:17 which earned him fifth place. Gabe Trevino achieved a personal record as well, while Adam Hafeli won his heat.

Ethan Pruzinsky made an impressive debut in the steeplechase event by breaking the 10-minute barrier with a time of 9:51.79, placing eighth out of eleven competitors. Coach Lofdahl remarked on Pruzinsky's performance: "Ethan Pruzinsky had a nice debut race in the steeplechase, breaking the 10-minute barrier in his first attempt as a true freshman."

The team also saw success in relay events with their 4x400 A team winning their heat. Coach Lofdahl expressed optimism about building on these achievements: "Continuing to build that winning mentality and to make improvements in fitness and confidence in the spring will help push our men to a new level in our primary season of competition next fall."

The Wayne State runners demonstrated strong performances throughout various races during this event, indicating promising prospects for future competitions.
