Wayne State University's volleyball team secured a victory against Saginaw Valley State University on Saturday, marking their fifth consecutive home win. The match took place at the Matthaei and was significant as it coincided with Senior Day. Wayne State swept the series against Saginaw Valley with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-13.

Head coach Tim Koth commented on the day's events, saying, "Senior Day can sometimes be a tricky day, but I thought we navigated through relatively well against a very competitive team from SVSU." He also praised players Katie Smith and Kayla Giroux for their outstanding offensive performance.

The win has implications for the upcoming GLIAC Tournament, where Wayne State has secured a home match for the quarterfinals on November 20. The details regarding their opponent are yet to be determined.

The match statistics highlighted Wayne State's strong performance with a hitting percentage of .340 compared to Saginaw Valley's .146. Giroux led the team with 14 kills, followed by Smith with 10 kills. On defense, Maya Wegand achieved a match-high of 10 digs.

In addition to Giroux and Smith's contributions, Kayla Dulgar provided 39 assists while Carly Rodman delivered two service aces. Defensively, Giroux, Molly Miller, and Keilyn Carpenter each contributed two blocks.

Before the match began, five seniors were honored: Miller, Carpenter, Rodman, Jenna Kray, and Ella Uganski.

Looking ahead, Wayne State will travel to face Grand Valley State University in Allendale for one of their final regular-season matches. The Warriors previously played against Grand Valley on October 3rd but fell after winning the first two sets.
