Wayne State University's women's basketball team secured a 65-55 victory over Cedarville University at the WSU Fieldhouse in Detroit. The game was part of the non-conference schedule and took place during a Kids Day event.

The Warriors, with an overall record of 6-3, started strong by scoring the first six points. Shea Tripp and Taylor Thompson contributed early on with lay-ups. Cedarville struggled initially but eventually scored through Regan Hubert. The first quarter ended tied at 10 points each after both teams faced difficulties finding the net.

In the second quarter, Cedarville briefly took the lead, but Wayne State responded with eight consecutive points, thanks to Thompson's free throws and a three-pointer by Gabi Lutchka. McKenna Ferguson helped extend Wayne State's lead to 28-22 by halftime.

Shea Tripp continued her strong performance in the third quarter, opening with a lay-up assisted by Thompson. Despite Cedarville's efforts to close the gap, Wayne State maintained their lead into the fourth quarter.

Cedarville's Ka'Mariah Pryor reduced Wayne State's lead to four early in the final period. However, an 8-0 run led by Lexi Boyke and Lutchka helped secure Wayne State's win.

Turnovers were significant throughout, as both teams combined for 47 turnovers. The Warriors had better shooting percentages overall and won the rebounding battle against Cedarville.

Shea Tripp led Wayne State with her fifth double-double of the season, contributing 20 points and ten rebounds while nearing her career milestone of 1,000 points. Ella Sellars led Cedarville off the bench with 13 points.

Wayne State will next face Findlay on December 21 at Croy Gymnasium to conclude their schedule for this year.
