Wayne State University's men's basketball team faced a challenging match against Ferris State, ultimately losing 91-81 at the Jim Wink Arena. The Warriors' record now stands at 5-7 overall and 1-3 in the GLIAC, while Ferris State improves to 14-1 overall and remains undefeated in conference play.

The game began with both teams exchanging leads, resulting in two ties and ten lead changes within the first seven minutes. Ferris State gained momentum with a 15-5 run, leading by nine points at one stage. Wayne State narrowed the gap to three points by halftime, thanks to contributions from Kareem Aburashed and Carmelo Harris.

In the second half, Tamario Adley quickly reduced Ferris State's lead to one point. Despite tying the game at 54-all after a seven-point streak, Wayne State struggled to maintain that momentum. Ferris State's Jaxson Whitaker hit consecutive three-pointers, widening their lead once more.

Despite efforts from Rob Lee Jr., Harris, and Aburashed, Wayne State could not close the gap sufficiently as Ferris State maintained control until the end of the game.

Statistically, Ferris State shot more efficiently than Wayne State and dominated several key areas including rebounding and bench scoring. Ethan Erickson led Ferris with 24 points while Harris scored a season-high of 24 for Wayne.

Wayne State will look to rebound as they prepare to host Parkside on Thursday evening.
