The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team faced a tough challenge against Grand Valley State, ranked sixth nationally. The meet took place on Saturday afternoon at the GVSU Fieldhouse Pool in Allendale, Michigan, resulting in a 215-84 defeat for Wayne State.
"We swam against one of the top teams in the country at their pool, and it certainly was a challenge," said head coach Sean Peters. "We managed a couple of wins with each gender, and saw some improvements from last week, and looking forward to continued strides for the Warriors."
Despite the loss, Wayne State secured two victories during the meet. Delaney Parker from Dexter, Michigan won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:06.77. Barbara Munoz from Yumbo, Colombia claimed victory in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.22.
Wayne State's next competition will be against Oakland University on Saturday, January 18th at the Matthaei Natatorium. The event is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
