Wayne State University's men's tennis team has been ranked 17th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Division II Preseason Coaches Poll. The ranking follows a successful 2023-24 season, where the team achieved a 17-11 overall record and reached the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.
The ITA poll, released on January 15, was determined by votes from the ITA National Ranking Committee, which includes ITA Region Chairs. Valdosta State secured the top position after winning last year's Division II National Championship.
Wayne State is set to compete against five teams that are also ranked in the top-25: Indianapolis, Barry, Rollins, Embry-Riddle, and Flagler.

Individual rankings were also released by the ITA following the 2024 fall season:
Cedric Drenth from Sulzbach, Germany (Altkönigschule Kronberg), achieved second place in Midwest Region Doubles and Singles, ninth in National Doubles, and 13th in National Singles.
George Day from Southampton, United Kingdom (Peter Symonds College), was ranked second in Midwest Region Doubles, fourth in Midwest Region Singles, ninth in National Doubles, and 48th in National Singles.
Tom Wasner from Altenholz, Germany (Friedrichsort Community School), secured eighth place in Midwest Region Singles.
The Wayne State men's tennis team will commence its 2025 spring season with a home match against Lawrence Tech on Sunday, February 2.
