Wayne State women's track team prepares for Bill Clinger Classic

Over 30 athletes from the Wayne State University women's indoor track and field team are set to compete at the Bill Clinger Classic. The event, hosted by Grand Valley State University, will take place this Friday. Field events are scheduled to start at 1 p.m., followed by running events at 1:30 p.m.

The lineup for Wayne State includes competitors across various disciplines. In the 60m Dash, participants include Hanne Bastiaansen, Tianna Bennett, Iyana Coates, Emmanuela Johnson, Catalla Jones, Rachel Overgaard, Sasha-Gay Thompson, and Lauren Wooten.

For the 200m race, Bastiaansen will be joined by Bennett, Coates, Alex Harmer, Johnson, Jones, Overgaard, Thompson, Wooten and Megan Zahnow. The team also features Renae Kutcha in the 400m alongside Elyse Miller, Makenzie Wellner and Avery Wilson.

In longer distances like the 800m and mile races Jessica Denver and Emily Gordon will participate along with others. Meanwhile Robin Bresolin is part of a strong lineup for the 3,000m race including Reagan Justice.

Wayne State's relay teams include two squads for the 4x400m relay event with alternate runner Iyana Coates. High jumpers Olivia Findlay and Gracie Klink aim to perform well while Nicole Warren will represent in both long jump and triple jump events.

Shot put competitors Makayla Stewart and Ania Toboy as well as weight throw athletes Stewart and Toboy complete the roster.

Following this event Wayne State plans to send split squads next weekend to competitions in Louisville's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational as well as Saginaw Valley State Jet's Pizza Invite.
