Wayne State women’s swim team advances multiple athletes to GLIAC Championship finals

The Wayne State University women's swimming and diving team commenced their participation in the 2025 GLIAC Championships at the Holland Aquatic Center in Holland, Michigan. The event spans four days, with the first day's preliminaries seeing several Warriors advance to the finals scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

In the 200 IM, Elly Belmore secured a spot in the championship finals with a time of 2:04.44, achieving an NCAA B Cut. Emma Crispo will compete in the consolation finals after finishing tenth with a time of 2:07.67. Delaney Parker, Megan Unger, Madelyn Peura, and Rose Haney did not advance.

For the 50 free event, Sabine Branford and Kate Rhodes advanced to the championship finals, clocking times of 23.52 (NCAA B Cut) and 23.88 respectively. Julia Katulski and Evie Dice made it to the consolation finals with times of 24.29 and 24.37 respectively. Maddy Flynn did not advance.

In the ongoing competition for the 1000 free event's timed final tonight are Barbara Munoz and Alli Vassilakos with seed times of 10:21.40 and 10:04.00 respectively. Diana Muccioli placed second earlier with a time of 10:21.38 (NCAA B Cut), followed by Emily Hedley in third place at 10:29.94.

In one-meter diving, Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru qualified for tonight's championship finals securing sixth place with a score of 387.55 alongside Alicia Viaches who scored closely behind at seventh place with a score of 387.45.
