Wayne State University's softball team faced the University of Findlay in a doubleheader, resulting in two losses. Originally scheduled for March 2 at Wayne State, the games were moved to February 28 at Findlay High School due to weather concerns. The Warriors fell 11-6 and 2-1 against Findlay.

In the first game, Wayne State started strong with a 4-0 lead, thanks to runs by Rylie Josephson and Katelyn DeWitt's home run. Hunter Near and Mady Ruczynski hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning. However, Findlay responded with three runs in the fourth inning and eventually overtook Wayne State by scoring six more runs in the sixth inning.

Sophomore Sydney Long pitched five-plus innings for Wayne State, allowing six earned runs on nine hits. Junior Hayden Batton and Grace Fisher also contributed from the mound. For Findlay, Alexys Antal pitched over five innings before Kayla Dykin secured the win in relief.

In game two, Abby Barnes broke a scoreless tie with a solo home run for Wayne State. Findlay tied it up shortly after and won when Annika Bredel hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Grace Fisher pitched all six innings for Wayne State, while Kayla Dykin and Emma Jones handled pitching duties for Findlay.

Wayne State's next challenge will be a series of games during their spring break trip to Florida from March 8-15.
