The Wayne State University baseball team achieved a significant victory against Malone with a 21-3 win on Saturday in Winter Haven, Florida. The team, now holding a 6-6 record, amassed 24 hits, marking the most since May 2021. This game also saw them scoring over 20 runs for the first time since April 2023.
Four players from Wayne State had standout performances with three hits each: Owen Tuccinardi, Reagan Paulina, Tony Hatzigeorgiou, and Aidan Arbogast. Tuccinardi went "3-for-5" with five RBIs and a home run. Paulina's performance included "2 R" and two RBIs along with a home run. Hatzigeorgiou contributed three runs and three RBIs while Arbogast added two runs and two RBIs to his name.
Additional contributions came from Drew Hill, Brady Blakita, Bennett Hitzelberger, and Logan Van Sicklen who all had multi-hit games. Van Sicklen notably hit a three-run homer, bringing his season total to four home runs.
Drew Dawson recorded his first career hit with a two-run double in the fifth inning. Noah Murciano also notched his first base hit as part of the Warriors lineup.
On the pitching side, five pitchers took turns on the mound. Braylon Laroo earned his first career win after pitching 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.
