The Wayne State University swimming and diving teams are set to participate in the 2025 NCAA Championships, taking place at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis. The event begins with diving pre-qualifications and the men's and women's 800 free relay on Tuesday.

For the men's team, five swimmers, three divers, and three relay alternates will represent Wayne State. Redshirt freshman Gabriel Arias from Bogota is entered in four events, while freshman Olin Charnstrom from Oxford will compete in four events as well. Freshman William Debroux from Oro-Medonte is participating in three distance freestyle events. Graduate student Trevor Jones from Farmington has qualified for four events, and senior Clayton Kinnard from Dexter is set for four races.

Divers Julio Osuna, Max Wasiniak, and John Martin will attempt to qualify through pre-qualifications on March 11th. Each diver must complete six dives per board to advance.

Wayne State's men's relays include participation in the 800 free relay, 400 medley relay, and 400 free relay. Additional swimmers Khalil Ben Ajmia of Tunis, Lorenzo Tassinari of Ravenna, and Tomas Osorio of Medellín join these relays.

On the women's side, graduate students Barbara Munoz from Yumbo and Alli Vassilakos from Clarkston have secured spots in multiple individual events. Divers Wen Wadsworth-Curcuru and Alicia Viaches will also vie for championship qualification during pre-qualifications on March 11th.

The women's team features two additional relay swimmers: junior Elly Belmore of St. Clair Shores and freshman Emily Hedley of Whitley Bay. The women’s 800 free relay team is currently ranked 13th nationally.
