Wayne State University's softball team has achieved a 3-1 record in the initial games of their Florida tour, improving their overall standing to 6-7. The Warriors are set to continue their journey with two matches scheduled for both Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Wayne State will face Glenville State at 3 p.m., followed by a game against Indiana (Pa.) at 5:15 p.m. The schedule on Wednesday includes contests against Winona State at 9 a.m. and Shepherd at 11:15 a.m. All matches will take place at the Legends Way complex in Clermont, Florida.

Despite the absence of senior designated player Rylie Josephson due to an injury sustained in the first game on Saturday, Wayne State managed to secure three victories over the weekend. Josephson has been performing well this season with a batting average of .577 and an on-base percentage of .656. Freshman Elly Koopman was named GLIAC Player of the Week after hitting .500 over the weekend with eight RBIs. Other key players include freshman Katelyn DeWitt and junior Grace Fisher, who have contributed significantly to the team's performance under head coach Nicole Tines.

Glenville State holds a 7-6 record before their Monday games against Lake Erie and Indianapolis. Makenna Negley leads her team with a .425 batting average, while Delaney Warnick tops the squad with five home runs and 17 RBIs. Head coach Sara Scoone is in her fifth year with Glenville State.

Indiana (Pa.) will bring a 6-2 record into Tuesday's match against Ohio Dominican prior to facing Wayne State. Tess Smiley is currently leading her team with a .412 batting average under head coach Shawna Bellaud.

Winona State boasts a strong record of 17-4 ahead of their Tuesday games versus Ohio Dominican and Saint Martin's. Notable performances come from Indigo Fish and Braelee Jodarski, who lead in batting averages and RBIs respectively under long-time head coach Greg Jones.

Shepherd began its spring break trip with a split against Slippery Rock in February and will be playing several games before meeting Wayne State on Wednesday morning. Eighth-year head coach Marissa Leslie leads Shepherd, which features players like Brenna Collis and Lexi Clatterbuck contributing to recent performances.

Wayne State will conclude its spring break trip after two more days of play following an off day on Thursday.
