Wayne State finishes NCAA swim championships ranked nineteenth

Wayne State University's women's swimming team concluded their participation in the 2025 NCAA Championships with a total of 55 points, securing the 19th position among 39 schools that scored. The event took place on Saturday evening in Indianapolis.

Senior swimmer Alli Vassilakos from Clarkston, Michigan, who transferred from Carthage College, contributed significantly to the team's score by finishing sixth in the timed final of the 1,650 free. Her performance clocked in at 16:50.99, earning her First Team All-America honors.

Graduate student Barbara Munoz from Yumbo, Colombia also participated during the preliminaries and secured a time of 17:30.69, placing her at the 29th position.

The championship saw Nova Southeastern emerge as winners with a total score of 475 points. They were followed closely by Drury with 463 points and Colorado Mesa with 376 points. Other notable teams included Indianapolis (346), Lynn (233), Tampa (220), Simon Fraser from British Columbia (211), Grand Valley State (198), Findlay (185), and Clarion rounding out the top ten with 140 points.
