The Wayne State University women's golf team has completed its participation in the USC Beaufort Oldfield Intercollegiate event, which took place over two days and three rounds in Okatie, South Carolina. The team showed improvement over the course of the tournament, reducing their scores in each subsequent round by five strokes and 11 shots respectively.
Among the individual performances from Wayne State, Ting-Yu Kuo tied for 26th place with a total score of 235 (+19), followed by Claudia Portillo who tied for 41st with a score of 241 (+25). Sophia Wygonik finished tied for 48th at 244 (+28), Sabel Imesch was tied for 64th at 252 (+36), and Orianna Bylsma ended up tied for 73rd with a score of 255 (+39).
In terms of team standings, Savannah College of Art and Design led the competition with a total score of 907 (+43). East Florida State secured second place with a score of 913 (+49). Carson-Newman and UIndy shared third place, both scoring 924 (+60). Wayne State finished in the twelfth position with an overall score of 966 (+102).
Wayne State's women's golf team is scheduled to compete next at Ohio Dominican's NC4K Classic on April 7-8 at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio.
