Wayne State women's golf ranks twelfth after day one at USCB Oldfield Intercollegiate

The Wayne State University women's golf team resumed its 2024-25 season on Monday at the Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie, South Carolina. The team is participating in USC Beaufort's Oldfield Intercollegiate and currently stands in 12th place out of 15 teams after two rounds.

Individually, Ting-Yu Kuo is tied for 29th with a score of 159 (+15) following rounds of 84 and 75. Claudia Portillo is tied for 38th with a total of 162 (+18), having shot rounds of 78 and 84. Sabel Imesch scored a total of 168 (+24) with consecutive rounds of 84, placing her in a tie for the 59th position. Sophia Wygonik sits at T66 with scores totaling to 169 (+25), while Orianna Bylsma is T73 with a combined score of 172 (+28).

In the team standings, East Florida State and Savannah College of Art and Design are tied for first place with scores of 611 (+35). Carson-Newman holds third place at +42, followed by Limestone and UIndy who are tied for fourth at +48.

The competition will conclude on Tuesday as all teams play an additional round starting at 8:30 a.m., using the shotgun start format similar to Monday.
